Shauneen Miranda is a reporter for States Newsroom’s Washington bureau.

She previously covered breaking news for Axios, focusing on politics, business, health and technology.

Prior to Axios, Shauneen worked for CNN, where she facilitated live news coverage assignments for the Washington bureau reporters. Her enthusiasm for digital storytelling took off while interning for NPR’s NewsHub in the summer of 2022.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland’s Philip Merrill College of Journalism.
