Trump endorses Flippo in Nevada’s CD2
President Donald Trump in a social media post Friday endorsed David Flippo in Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District, calling him an “America First Patriot” who is “strongly supported by the most Highly Respected MAGA Warriors in Nevada.”

Trump’s statement also noted Flippo, a retired is supported by “many Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives.” That group does not include Nevada’s U.S. Rep. Mark Amodei, whom Flippo hopes to replace. Amodei, who in February surprised the state by announcing he would not run for re-election, is backing former Nevada Senate Minority Leader James Settelmeyer.
Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo has also endorsed Settelmeyer in the race.
Trump won CD2 by 14 points in 2024.
In a statement released by his campaign, Flippo said he is “deeply honored and humbled” to receive Trump’s endorsement. “As a retired Air Force combat veteran, I will never stop fighting for his America First agenda — securing our borders, strengthening our military, cutting taxes, and putting Nevada families first. Together, we will keep Nevada red and Make America Great Again!”
Trump’s endorsement of Flippo comes halfway through Nevada’s two-week early voting period, which began May 23 and runs through June 5. More than 113,000 voters statewide have already cast ballots in the primary, either in-person at an early voting site or through a mail ballot, according to the Nevada Secretary of State.
Trump announced endorsements in two other Nevada congressional districts back in April. He endorsed state Sen. Carrie Buck in 1st Congressional District and composer Marty O’Donnell in 3rd Congressional District. Buck and O’Donnell are hoping to flip seats currently held by Democratic U.S. Reps. Dina Titus and Susie Lee, respectively.
Nevada’s primary is Tuesday, June 9.
