A fight between two groups of people at the Mall of Louisiana food court led to gunfire Thursday afternoon, with a 17-year-old killed and five other people injured, WAFB-TV reports.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said there is no longer a threat to the public. Five people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, and others are being sought, BRPD Chief TJ Morse said.

Some innocent bystanders at the mall “might have also caught some rounds,” the police chief said.

Six victims were taken to a hospital by ambulance, Baton Rouge Emergency Medical Services confirmed. Other people were injured in the incident but not shot.

Lafayette Consolidated Government confirmed that the victims include three seniors from Ascension Episcopal School in Lafayette.

This is the second fatal mass shooting in Louisiana this week following an incident Sunday in Shreveport when Shamar Elkins, 31, killed seven of his children and a nephew, ages 3-10, and wounded their mothers. Elkins took his own life after fleeing from police.

This is a developing story.
