Tuesday is Oregon’s voter registration deadline. Make your voice count.
Time is fast running out for Oregonians to ensure they can vote in the Nov. 3 midterm election.
Eligible voters are U.S. citizens and at least 18 years old by Election Day. Most eligible people who’ve obtained or renewed an Oregon driver’s license since 2016 were automatically registered, but all voters should confirm they’re registered and their address is up to date by visiting oregonvotes.gov/myvote by 11:59 p.m. Tuesday.
Oregon election officials will begin mailing ballots to all registered voters Wednesday. Voters will have until 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 to return their completed ballots in the signed envelope to an official ballot box, county elections office or by mail using the prepaid postage.
If voters elect to mail their ballots, election officials recommend sending their ballot no later than Oct. 27. That’s because of policy changes at the U.S. Postal Service that resulted in all mail being sent to a Portland facility before receiving a postmark and reaching its intended destination.
Oregon voters will elect a governor, U.S. senator, six members of the U.S. House, 15 state senators, 60 state representatives and scores of local officials in November.
