Former Boise State QB named executive director of Idaho Technical Career Academy

Former Boise State University quarterback Tony Hilde has been named executive director of Idaho Technical Career Academy virtual public charter school, officials with the school announced last week. 

Hilde has been with the school since 2025, when he was hired to serve as career technical education coordinator. Hilde succeeds former executive director Monti Pittman, who retired. 

During his time with Idaho Technical Career Academy, or ITCA, officials said Hilde has expanded the school’s career technical education offerings, added a veterinary technology course, added a cybersecurity pathway and rebranded the digital arts program.

Idaho Technical Career Academy is a tuition-free virtual public charter school affiliated with Stride Inc. and its brand K12, which provides software and digital curriculum materials 

“Tony’s depth of knowledge in CTE, combined with his real-world business experience, makes him an asset to ITCA students and staff.” Teri Cady, executive director at K12, said in a press release. “His work to expand and strengthen these programs reflects a commitment to making sure every ITCA student graduates with the skills and credentials employers are looking for.” 

Before joining Idaho Technical Career Academy, Hilde was a co-founder of Trosky EdTech, Trosky Ranch and was a business education teacher and department chair in the West Ada School District. He holds a teaching license in Idaho and Oregon. 

Hilde played quarterback on the 1994 Boise State University football team that played in the 1994 NCAA Division 1-AA championship game.
