Idaho Supreme Court to hear cases in eastern Idaho’s Idaho Falls and Pocatello
The Idaho Supreme Court will travel to the eastern Idaho cities of Pocatello and Idaho Falls this week to conduct hearings, the state judicial system announced.
The court is set to consider three cases starting at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Idaho Falls at the Bonneville County Courthouse, according to the court’s schedule. The following day, the court is set to consider two cases starting at 8:45 a.m. Thursday in Pocatello at the Bannock County Courthouse.
The state’s highest court is based in the capital city of Boise, but the Idaho Constitution and state law requires the court to travel across the state to hear cases.
Hearings of the Idaho Supreme Court — which handles appeals and some cases that go directly to the court — are open to the public. Food, beverages and backpacks are not allowed in the courtroom, and cell phones and electronic devices should be silenced. Cameras and recording devices are not allowed without permission from the court ahead of time.
