Events marking the 250th birthday of the Declaration of Independence had been underway in Arkansas well before the July 4 holiday.

From a series of markers honoring the state’s history to flyovers to museum exhibits, communities around the state have been marking the nation’s semiquincentennial for the past several weeks.

That ratchets up this weekend with even more festivals, concerts and fireworks displays around the Natural State.

Here’s some of the events in Arkansas to mark the July 4 holiday:

Friday

USA250 Brass and Organ Concert — 7 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock

Trinity Cathedral will present a brass and organ ‘pops’ concert of American and patriotic music. The concert is free and open to the public. More information is available here.

 

Saturday

Declaration readings at state parks — times and location varies

Several state parks around Arkansas are hosting readings of the Declaration of Independence. For more information, visit the state parks site here.

 

Independence Day Festivities at Clinton Presidential Center — 9 a.m. Clinton Presidential Center, Little Rock

The daylong celebration includes free admission to the presidential center, performances by the Top of the Rock Chorus, a Revolutionary War battle reenactment and other activities. More information is available here.

 

Mount Nebo State Park Independence Day Celebration — 9:30 a.m. Mount Nebo State Park, Dardanelle

The activities will include a parade, patriotic songs and other activities. More information is available here.

 

Frontier Fourth of July — 10 a.m. Historic Arkansas Museum, Little Rock

The museum’s activities include games and a reading of the Declaration. More information is available here.

Spotlight Tour: America 250 — 10:30 a.m. Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Little Rock

Docent-led tours are available to discover the diverse contributions of American artists throughout the AMFA galleries. More information is available here.

 

Fayetteville A250 Festivities and Fireworks Show — 5 p.m. Northwest Arkansas Mall, Fayetteville

This event will include music, raffles, food and a fireworks show. More information is available here.

 

Fourth of July Block Party — 5 p.m. Sue Anglin Drive, Siloam Springs

This celebration will feature food trucks, bounce houses and fireworks. More information is available here.

 

The Mayor’s Fourth of July Celebration — 5 p.m. Harry E. Kelly River Park, Fort Smith

The event will include live music on the riverfront, family activities and fireworks. More information is available here.

 

Pops on the River — 5 p.m. First Security Amphitheater, Little Rock

This free event includes music from the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, food vendors and fireworks over the Arkansas River. More information is available here.

 

July 4th at the Field — 6 p.m. Dickey-Stephens Park, North Little Rock

The Arkansas Travelers are hosting a screening of the movie “The Sandlot” and a fireworks show. More information is available here.

 

America 250: Fireworks at the Fair Grounds — 6:30 p.m. Union County Fairgrounds, El Dorado

The evening will include a live DJ, music, vendors and fireworks. More information is available here.

 

Evening at Orchards Park — 7 p.m. Orchards Park, Bentonville

The event will include live music, concessions and a fireworks show. More information is available here.

 

Pine Bluff Fireworks Show — 9 p.m. Pine Bluff Regional Park
