Amelia Twyman is a summer 2026 intern at States Newsroom’s Washington, D.C. bureau. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, the student reporter now studies journalism and creative writing at the University of Maryland, College Park. She works as an assistant news editor at the university’s independent student newspaper, The Diamondback, where has also covered topics including justice, equity and identity, the University Senate, higher education and city and campus development. Amelia is set to graduate from UMD in 2028.
