TGIF, no? I didn’t watch Trump describing how “Almighty God” personally and directly intervened to save his life in Pennsylvania. But I see he said that was the only time he was going to tell his story, so obviously we’ll never hear him tell it again. Oh well.
IN NEVADA CURRENT
Trump TV. First convicted felon to ever accept a major party’s presidential nomination. And so not surprisingly, echoing assertions of his campaign adviser earlier in the day, Trump suggested a silly little thing like election results would not prevent him from becoming president following November’s election – “Nothing will stop me to this vision, because our vision is righteous and our cause is pure.” Here’s the D.C. bureau (which this week has been the Milwaukee bureau ha ha) with an overview of Trump’s Big Night. Trump describes assassination attempt in speech accepting GOP presidential nomination
Union no. A little something for everybody, that’s what Project 2025 is. Clark County Education Association strongman, er, president John Vellardita says there’s no way the plan’s aggressive anti-union agenda can come to fruition (he seems to be under the impression that some manner of normalcy will be maintained in a second Trump administration; how nice for him). I haven’t combed Project 2025 as much as some folks, but I suspect I may have looked at it a little more than the average bear, and there was a lot of information in this story that I didn’t know. Very informative. Dana Gentry reports: Trump’s pitch to unions belies anti-worker policies in Project 2025
The column on Vance you need to read. My colleague David Dewitt, editor of States Newsroom’s Ohio Capital Journal, powerfully, thoroughly and beautifully details how the GOP VP nominee’s diagnosis of his region’s working families and their plight is cherry-picked, myopic, and harmful. Outstanding column: As a fellow Ohioan, I have some concerns about U.S. Sen. JD Vance
Meh, election results, schmelection results. As aforementioned, here’s Trump’s co-campaign manager Thursday assuring everyone that Trump will be the president again no matter what the results of the election are. The Milwaukee, er, D.C. bureau’s Ashley Murray reports: Top Trump adviser says 2024 election ‘not over’ until Inauguration Day

NV’s total number of jobs grew in June, but so did unemployment
