Trump promises ‘Kansas Style rally very soon’ to support Roger Marshall
TOPEKA — President Donald Trump said Monday he will host a “Kansas Style rally very soon” to support U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall in his reelection campaign for U.S. Senate.
Numerous polls have shown the race between the Republican Marshall and Democratic pastor Adam Hamilton to be a virtual tossup, and national parties are pouring millions of dollars into the race.
In a long post on Truth Social, Trump lauded Marshall and criticized Hamilton, calling him a “Dumocrat” and a “Trump Deranged Phony who pretends to be a ‘Moderate.’ ”
Trump called Marshall one of his favorite senators and said Marshall was given a “bum rap” by people who criticized him for taking patients to court to collect on past-due bills.
“A judge ordering a patient’s arrest for not showing up to court many, many times is not Roger Marshall’s fault — IT IS THE LAW, and his Crooked Opponent is using that against him,” Trump wrote.
Trump claimed Hamilton wants high taxes, open borders and men in women’s sports, among other things.
“I won the Evangelical Christian Vote IN A LANDSLIDE, a Record Number, the Highest in History, and am more popular with them now, than ever before, because of what I have done, and gotten them — And I wouldn’t want Adam Hamilton being my pastor,” Trump wrote. “He’s caused nothing but turmoil in his church, which has broken up, and is virtually at war with each other because of him.”
Trump said Marshall has fought hard for Kansas farmers and agriculture, to secure the border and to cut taxes and regulations.
“I will be having a Kansas Style Rally, in Roger’s honor, very soon. See you there!” Trump wrote.
Hamilton’s campaign spokesman said Trump’s post was a sign that Washington is panicking over “desperate failing politician Roger Marshall.”
“They’re saying anything to try to distract from Marshall’s record of supporting the war in Iran, gutting healthcare, and raising prices on everything from gas to groceries,” Tyson Brody said in an email to Kansas Reflector. “Marshall is turning to these desperate lies and false attacks because Kansans have learned Roger Marshall had pregnant mothers arrested and jailed over small medical debts, and voted to block the release of the Epstein files.”
