Nelly, The Avett Brothers and more: Here’s who’s headlining free America250PA concerts across Pa.
Sharing the Hersheypark Stadium stage with living historians portraying Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced the headliners of a series of five free concerts across Pennsylvania this May and June.
The concerts are part of the America250PA events, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.
“America’s story started right here in our Commonwealth and Pennsylvanians have played a key role in shaping our nation,” Shapiro said. “This concert series will bring together Pennsylvanians from all across the Commonwealth, giving them an opportunity to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday.”
Last week, the Shapiro administration announced the budget for the concert series was roughly $675,000, part of a broader $40 million initiative to bring large events to Pennsylvania for the America250 celebrations.
The concerts are:
- May 23 at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, with Cole Swindell and Gabby Barrett as the headliners.
- June 6 at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, The Fray will headline.
- June 13 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, with The Avett Brothers headlining.
- June 20 at Kirby Park in Wilkes-Barre, Lady A and En Vogue will headline.
- June 27 at Point State Park in Pittsburgh, Nelly and Third Eye Blind will be the headliners.
