Idaho Judicial Branch launches court records search tool

Searching through court records in Idaho just got easier. A new interface for accessing court documents was rolled out across local courthouses Tuesday morning, according to the Idaho Judicial Branch.

Computer kiosks at Idaho’s county courthouses have been updated to enable users to search case information and hearings without entering a party name or case number.

Each of the 44 county courthouses is equipped with at least one computer that allows the public to access case information and records from across state courts. Court records from across Idaho can also be accessed at the Idaho Supreme Court building in Boise.

Idaho law requires the state to make public records open to inspection “at all reasonable times.” The code protects the right to make copies of documents, whether physically or by photography. The government is allowed to charge for the cost of copying documents.

Information and records from cases of interest across Idaho, including the 2022 University of Idaho student murders and the trial of Andrea Shaw, who is charged with killing her twins in 2025, are available online at the Idaho Judicial Branch website.
