Eighty members of the Arkansas National Guard have departed for Washington, the guard announced Tuesday, in its sixth deployment to the nation’s capital since President Donald Trump retook office.

Members of the 39th Mobile Brigade Combat Team will be in Washington until Feb. 12 and replace 60 members of the same unit as well as members of the 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, which have spent several months participating in Trump’s “D.C. Safe and Beautiful” task force.

Arkansas has been sending guard members to Washington for the taskforce since Dec. 1, 2025, with 170 members of the guard currently deployed there.

Trump’s use of thousands of National Guard members from multiple states to reduce crime in D.C. has been challenged in state and federal courts.
