Republican U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman prevailed over four challengers — one Democrat, one Green Party member,  and two independent candidates — to win another term in Wisconsin’s 6th Congressional District Tuesday.

The AP called the race at 9:35 p.m. for Grothman. With 81% of ballots counted, Grothman led with just almost 55% of the vote. Democrat Brad Smith, a management consultant, had just under 42% of the vote.

The 6th District covers Columbia, Marquette, Green Lake, Waushara, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties along with most of Winnebago County, the northern third of Dodge County and the southern sliver of Calumet County.

Two independent candidates and a Green Party candidate each finished with less than 2%.
