Public hearing set in northwest North Dakota wind farm

The public will have a chance to comment on a planned wind farm in northwest North Dakota.
The state Public Service Commission has set a hearing for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 29, at the Grand Williston Hotel and Conference Center for the Homestead Wind Project in northwestern Williams County.
The project proposes 67 wind turbine generators across 25,000 acres. It would be capable of producing about 256 megawatts of electricity. The estimated cost of the project is $750 million.
Homestead Wind is part of Apex Clean Energy Holdings, which also has been involved in wind development in McLean and Bowman counties.
Public comments must be made in person at the hearing to be part of the official PSC record.
Commission hearings are livestreamed at psc.nd.gov. The commission has siting authority over energy projects such as wind farms and solar farms.
