LSU New Orleans chancellor search committee kicks off its work 

LSU President Wade Rousse has announced members of the committee that will select the next LSU New Orleans chancellor by the end of the year. 

The university was previously led by Kathy Johnson, who served as president of the University of New Orleans from 2023 until shortly before the school left the University of Louisiana System for the LSU System and adopted LSU’s branding. 

“This campus is entering a defining period of institutional transformation and its top leader must strengthen public trust, expand enrollment and research activity, and position LSU New Orleans as a model for modern urban higher education,” Rousse said in a news release. 

The committee will get its first look at the applicant pool Aug. 25, with the goal of selecting a finalist in December. 

The search committee will be chaired  by Nick Mueller, a former UNO vice chancellor. Members include: 

• Boysie Bollinger, a New Orleans business magnate and ally of Gov. Jeff Landry 
• Bobby Savoie, Loyola University’s business dean, an LSU alumnus and prominent donor to UNO 
• Dave Sherman, a New Orleans attorney and UNO business grad
• Michael Hecht, CEO emeritus for Greater New Orleans 
• Gary Solomon, a New Orleans businessman and major UNO donor
• Larissa Littleton-Steib, chancellor of Delgado Community College
• Former state Rep. Jim Tucker of Algiers 
• Chris Summa, Faculty Senate president 
• Coleen Maidlow, Staff Council president 
• Kamille Ison 
• Mike Jackson, a New Orleans construction engineer and UNO alumnus
• Jeff Ehlinger, a New Orleans bank executive and UNO graduate
• Randall Langston, LSU New Orleans vice president of enrollment management
