RI Commerce opens $2M grant program for small-business ventilation projects
The state is offering up to $10,000 for small businesses that make improvements to their indoor air quality.
Rhode Island Commerce on Friday announced it was accepting applications for the $2 million RI Rebounds Ventilation Support program. The grant program, funded through the state’s share of American Rescue Act Plan dollars, gives eligible small businesses money for recently completed or proposed indoor ventilation projects, according to Commerce.
Businesses must have less than $1 million in annual revenue and have opened prior to Oct. 1, 2021, to apply. Projects eligible for funding include installation or upgrades to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning, air purifiers, fans and windows.
Businesses that have received grants through the Take it Outside program, another COVID-19 recovery program through Commerce, can receive up to a maximum of $10,000 in funding between both programs combined.
