Louisiana health officials have confirmed one weather-related death after a powerful storm system slammed the state Wednesday with heavy rainfall, damaging winds and tornados.

Rapides Parish Coroner Dr. Jonathan Hunter reported that a 60-year-old woman died after a tree and power line fell onto her camper outside of Pineville, according to the Louisiana Department of Health and parish officials. The woman’s name has not yet been released.

Officials in Mississippi also confirmed a death in Scott County. Multiple injuries were also reported from Wednesday’s weather that affected millions along the Gulf Coast.

The thunderstorms that rolled through Louisiana caused widespread school closures, property damage, power outages and moderate flooding across the state.

The National Weather Service confirmed tornados in Lake Charles, Slidell and St. Francisville.
