Partnership launches site to help businesses find temp workers
The Greater Des Moines Partnership has launched DSM Employment Ready, an initiative to help businesses find temporary workers. The site also will help employees looking for work because of changes caused by the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Partnership will maintain a list of Greater Des Moines companies looking to hire. It also will track state and federal assistance for employers and employees.
“We understand the impact of COVID-19 is far-reaching,” Mary Bontrager, executive vice president of talent development at the Greater Des Moines Partnership. “DSM Employment Ready is a place where businesses can share immediate hiring needs and job seekers can find temporary employment opportunities. It’s a place that will also provide up-to-date employment resources and information relating to a rapidly changing employment environment.”
Here is a tracking list for job-seekers. Another resource is DSM USA Career Center, which has job listings and a place for resumes. Information on unemployment benefits, childcare assistance and other services are available here.
Employers who want to share immediate openings should email Sidney Pezley, program manager at The Partnership, with the following information: company name, company contact information, number of job openings, job skills needed, where and how to apply.
