SMITHFIELD — Gov. Daniel J. McKee will share his words of wisdom with Bryant University’s Class of 2023 as the undergraduate commencement speaker, the university announced on Wednesday.

McKee will also receive an honorary doctor of business administration, according to a press release.

The Smithfield university is the first among Rhode Island’s higher education institutions to name a commencement speaker for the upcoming graduation season. Bryant’s undergraduate ceremony is scheduled for May 20, with a separate event for its graduate school – featuring Alan Litwin, managing director of Kahn, Litwin, Renza & Co. Ltd., as commencement speaker – on May 18, the release stated.
