Louisiana residents can start filing 2024 state income taxes Wednesday

The Louisiana Department of Revenue will accept individual income tax returns starting Wednesday for tax year 2024. The deadline to file state tax returns is May 15.
Taxpayers can file their returns and make tax payments electronically through a revenue department online portal. Paper returns are also accepted at the addresses below.
Those who submit their returns electronically should expect their refunds within four weeks, according to the Department of Revenue. Refunds from paper returns will take as long as eight weeks.
