Iowa-licensed psychologist is facing disciplinary charges
An Iowa-licensed psychologist is facing multiple disciplinary charges from state regulators.
The Iowa Board of Behavioral Professionals has charged Veronica King with permitting an unlicensed individual under her control to perform activities that require a license; failure to comply with ethical principles, specifically as they relate to patients providing informed consent for therapy; failure to comply with ethical principles, specifically as they relate to the delegation of work to others; and failure to comply with ethical principles, specifically as they relate to consent to patient assessments.
As is normally the case with Iowa’s licensing boards, the Board of Behavioral Professionals has publicly disclosed no information as to the alleged conduct that gave rise to the charges, or indicated when or where the conduct may have occurred.
A board hearing on the matter is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027.
The charges against King were approved by the board in July 2026, but were made public only this week. The Iowa Capital Dispatch was not able to reach King for comment.
According to the board, King has been an Iowa-licensed psychologist since 2024 and was practicing somewhere in Iowa through the use of telehealth services during the period when the alleged violations took place.
