Idaho State Department of Agriculture to host free pesticide disposal sites this month
Idaho homeowners, growers and applicators will have a free opportunity to dispose of their pesticides later this month.
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is hosting two pesticide disposal dates in August, and it will accept most pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, rodenticides or anything ending with “cide,” according to its website.
August pesticide disposal locations:
Where: Bonneville County Transfer Station
2455 Hemmert Ave., Idaho Falls
When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 27
Where: Twin Falls County Highway District
2620 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls
When: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 28
According to the Idaho Department of Agriculture, there were about 148,000 points of pesticides collected in 2021, and about 125,500 pounds collected in 2022.
The department will host two other disposal opportunities in September in American Falls and Burley.
