Early voting to begin in Kentucky this week ahead of November election
For the November general election, early voting in Kentucky begins Thursday.
All registered voters may cast ballots Thursday, Friday and Saturday through in-person no-excuse voting. Hours may vary by county. To find polling locations by county, visit the Kentucky State Board of Elections website.
The general election is next week — Tuesday, Nov. 3. The deadline to register ahead of the election in order to vote was in September.
The ballot will include local and statehouse races, as well as federal elections for the U.S. House and Senate. One constitutional amendment regarding governors’ pardon powers will be on the ballot. The State Board of Elections website also includes sample ballots from around the state.
Candidates are making their final pitches to voters with days left ahead of the general election. In what has become Kentucky’s most competitive race — the 6th Congressional District in the central part of the state — Democrat Zach Dembo has announced a Lexington rally with Gov. Andy Beshear on Thursday, the first day of early voting. Last week, Republicans held their own rally with volunteers in Fayette County featuring the GOP candidate in the race, Ralph Alvarado, and U.S. Senate candidate, U.S. Rep. Andy Barr.
In order to vote in Kentucky, voters must show proof of identification with a photo, such as a driver’s license.
