Canyon County hiring poll workers for Election Day on Nov. 8

With the upcoming general election taking place on Nov. 8., the Canyon County Elections Office is looking to hire poll workers. 

“Poll workers are a critical component in ensuring that Election Day goes smoothly for voters,” wrote the Canyon County Elections Office in a press release. 

Poll workers must work from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election Day. Their duties will include helping voters check in, registering voters, issuing ballots and handing out “I Voted” stickers. Workers will receive $149 per election. 

Requirements: 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must be able to work a 14-hour day
  • Must attend a short training session before the election
