A northern Iowa dentist is facing disciplinary charges of negligence.

The Iowa Dental Board has charged Dr. Bingqi Luo of Fort Dodge with negligence in the practice of the profession.

The board says that form of negligence includes a failure to exercise due care, including the negligent delegation of duties or supervision of others, regardless of whether injury results, and can also include any conditions that impair the ability to safely and skillfully practice.

The board has also charged Luo with violating regulations that require dentists to protect the health of their patients by assigning to qualified personnel only those duties that can be legally delegated to others.

The board has not disclosed any information about the alleged underlying conduct that gave rise to the charges except to say that it occurred while Luo practiced in Fort Dodge.

A board hearing on the matter is scheduled for Jan. 21, 2027. According to board records, Luo has been an Iowa-licensed dentist since Oct. 10, 2024.

The Iowa Capital Dispatch was not able to reach Luo for comment.
