ACCS approves one new president, approves retirement of another
The Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees Wednesday appointed Jonathan Koh the new president of Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa.
Koh has worked at the college since 2015, according to the department, and most recently worked as dean of Workforce and Economic Development.
“I cannot wait to continue our hard work in the community as we come alongside our partners, develop new ways to grow our economy, retain talent and develop a first class community that represents all that this great state stands for,” said Koh at a meeting of the system’s Board of Trustees on Wednesday.
The trustees also approved the retirement of Craig Pouncey, president of Coastal Alabama Community College. Chancellor Jimmy Baker said the retirement was effective Dec. 31.
Frazier Payne, Special Assistant to the Chancellor at Bishop State Community College, was appointed to serve as the interim president. His tenure begins Nov. 8, according to a Wednesday news release.
